Do YOU have candida?
I’m going to try and make this as quick and informative as possible because I don’t want anyone to bypass reading this, it’s that important.
I seriously believe that candida is one of the most undiagnosed debilitating conditions that exists today.
I also believe that candida is the #1 root cause of my autoimmune disease, Hashimotos thyroiditis.
Candida is a naturally occurring fungus, a form of yeast actually, and a normal inhabitant of our gut and digestive tract. It’s supposed to be there. It is, however, an opportunistic SOB, and when the perfect environment presents itself, it will take over and multiple like freaking rabbits.
We all have good (a/k/a beneficial) and bad bacteria that exists in our gut. What we eat causes both to grow. Not only does what we eat affect how these organisms multiply, but the environment they live in matters as well.
What effect the environment? Antibiotics, birth control pills, excessive sugar, alcohol, carb heavy diets and stress, just to name a few.
When we take antibiotics to kill whatever the doctor thinks might be currently creating a medical threat, it not only kills whatever is creating the problem, it also wipes out all the good bacteria, too. Everything goes and that my friend, is not good.
Many of you ladies out there know that soon after you have taken antibiotics, you wind up with a yeast infection, right? Well that’s the candida hijacking your vajayjay. Then you have to treat that nightmare, too.
Candida is not exclusive to women, we just hear about it more in women because of the yeast infection connection.
When candida has nothing to keep it in check and it is fed what it loves (sugar, alcohol, carbs, highly processed foods, stress) it takes over and spreads like a mofo and it goes everywhere. It doesn’t just stay in the gut, it can spread to the whole digestive track from the mouth on down to your anal sphincter. I also feel it in my sinuses and head and OMG my ears!!! So freaking itchy!! If you think about it, the sinus cavity is a warm wet environment and the perfect breeding ground (much like the vajayjay) for fungus like this to thrive.
If it becomes systemic, it can affect your organs and that’s when shit gets real.
As an organic organism it has a metabolic byproduct. What exactly is that? When it eats, multiplies and grows, it poos. Yup. Craps out a horrible chemical into your bloodstream called acetaldehyde, also commonly known as the hangover drug.
Acetaldehyde is also an intermediate in the metabolism of alcohol. That means, as you’re digesting the booze you drank last night the chemical acetaldehyde is desperately trying to be metabolized by your liver and running amok in your system. In both circumstances, this chemical makes you generally lethargic and either depressed or in a funk. Once the alcohol is done metabolizing and the chemical fallout has cleared you feel better, right?
When you have chronic candida, it just keeps growing and multiplying and depression builds. And depression is just one of the many side effect of you hosting and encouraging the growth of this darn fungus in your body.
The most common symptoms include but are not limited to:
- Body aches and pains;
- Chronic sinus conditions/phlegm;
- Athletes foot/chronic skin issues or nail fungus;
- Brain fog, poor memory
- Craving for sweets;
- White coating on tongue/oral thrush/metallic feeling on tongue;
- Digestive issues – gas, bloating, constipation,

I believe in my heart of hearts that candida is at the root of our depression explosion nationwide.
Why are so many people on anti-depressants are still depressed and feeling shitty? Because they weren’t diagnosed properly. For the improperly diagnosed, the problem isn’t an issue with brain chemicals, it’s a gut issue. So they are being treated with the wrong solution to the wrong problem.
I look at traditional medicine kind of like the climate deniers. The science is there, right smack in front of them, but they continue to tell you that candida overgrowth is a made up medical condition by freaks, witch doctors and functional medicine whack jobs.
Traditional medicine is great if you’ve had a traumatic head on collision. Otherwise it’s getting a big fat freaking “F” from me. Follow the money trail. Get out of the broken system.
Look to the people who are GETTING RESULTS.
If you have most of the symptoms above and haven’t been able to eradicate them in any way shape or form, it’s time to dig deeper. Time to look at candida as the potential cause for your problem.
You’ve got to KNOW what your medical condition is in order to treat it appropriately. I hope this leads to to some resolution for issues you’ve been struggling with but no one has yet to identify.
Be sure to share this info with anyone you think might benefit from reading. Help a friend out! They will thank you.
