I’m from New Orleans where we take making excuses to NOT do what we know is in our best interest to an epic level. Almost an art form, actually. We can talk ourselves out of ANYTHING that might require us to pull a po-boy or cocktail out of our hand. Twelfth Night (January 6th), turns into Mardi Gras (February), turns into St. Patrick’s Day (March), turns into French Quarter Festival (April), turns into JazzFest (May)….We are always going to start AFTER the next major event in town.
Tomorrow NEVER comes.
It’s never going to come. Why? Because we don’t have enough pain in our lives to warrant change. Whether it is physical or emotional pain you just haven’t hit that really uncomfortable point were you feel crappy enough to do something about it…yet.
Pain is when you have to buy the next size up.
Pain is running out of breath trying to keep up with the grand children.
Pain is looking down at the scale and wondering how you managed to gain 50 lbs.
Pain is when the doctor gives you the wake up call and you have to eliminate EVERYTHING you love consuming ALL AT ONCE.
American culture dictates that we are RE-active, not PRO-active.
No one…NO ONE is going to be able to avoid facing drastic dietary changes at some point in their life because most of what we’re eating isn’t really food. Most of what we eat has so few nutrients in it that we aren’t getting what we need to function. MANY of us are operating in a state of constant deficiency. Then there is the cumulative effect of the chemical onslaught. It’s completely overwhelming to the system.
Statins don’t work.
Sugar free doesn’t make you thin.
Fat free doesn’t make you thin either.
Anti-depressants don’t work. No that’s not true. Sometimes they work so well you don’t feel anything, good or bad.
Your poor body, it just wants to be FED, not filled with crap and chemicals.
Once you start FEEDING your body nutrients you’ll start craving more. Why? Because your brain now recognizes WHERE it can get what it needs and will ask you for more of the same.
Not only that, you’ll actually start feeling better.
You’ll have more energy, mental clarity and experience lose weight.
THERE IS HOPE!
