Why: Sleep deprivation is one of the main reasons we are tired and cranky. It is also one of the reasons our health declines. Sleep is your body’s time to repair and recover. If your sleeping habits are bad, it’s likely your health is in the toilet, too.
Many of us struggle with sleep for a wide variety of reason but this reason is one of the biggest, and potentially the easiest fix. It will cost you nothing, so jump in and let us know how it works.
The vast majority of us have come to associate our bed and bedrooms as places where we do a LOT of different activities. Our bed, in particular, should be used for two things and two things only – sleep and sex. If you are working, eating, watching TV, scrolling on your phone, doing projects, etc in bed, you brain doesn’t associate it with what it’s for….rest, relaxation and sex.
There is a reason that sleep deprivation is used in parts of the world to torture folks. I’m not trying to be funny here. I had a 5 month window where I was sleep deprived because of some dogs loose in my neighborhood and even I couldn’t stand myself. It’s horrible.
Give your body what it needs to repair and recover. Sleep is the best gift you can give yourself.
