Today’s green beans with garlic recipe became a very popular dish for me when I was on my big trip. For those of you that don’t know, I spent 2 years backpacking through Mexico, Central America and the Bahamas beginning in January of 2008. During that time I was invited to a lot of different gatherings and parties and because my Mamma raised me right, I’d never go to a party empty handed. I could always get my hands on the few items I needed to bring this dish along with me.
People freaking love this recipe, but more importantly, you can basically eat as many of these as you want. They are one of the foods that helped me quit smoking MANY years ago. So if you are trying to give something up, this is not only a crowd pleasing recipe, it’s a great go-to,hand-to-mouth, guilt-free, eat as much as you want food item.
Usually I’ll make it as a side dish but I always make a bunch of it. After you eat it with your dinner, you’ll want some later on for a snack. Or…cut them up and add them to your salads. Easy peasy.
